The Cowards

The Cowards

I was a runner for an episode of a pilot comedy sketch-show called ‘The Cowards‘. It was  filmed for BBC 4, in Glasgow, 2008. It aired in January and Febuary 2009.

Working as a catering runner on Neil Marshall’s latest feature film Centurion was intense and exhilirating.  The weather was not always kind up in Aviemore and I needed all the thermals I could fit on. We used army vehicles to get to mountain tops and despite the cold, everyone appeared to enjoy filming in the location, Neil especiallly.

I was involved with Sweet TV during the 2004 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. This was an internet tv channel set up to report on the events of the Fringe. This is a short story about J. K. Rowling taken from when she appeared at the 2004 Edinburgh International Book Festival to launch her 5th book, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

Midfield Maestro’  was shot on 35mm on the Isle of Barra and features the Glasgow band, There Will Be Fireworks. It was broadcast on BBC ALBA (Channel 168 on Sky/Channel 110 on Freesat) on Wednesday 4th Feb 2009 at 22:00 and repeated on Friday 6th Feb 2009 at 23:00. My role was as the grip and I felt we were quite inventive sometimes with our tracking shots in difficult terrain. The weather was amazing but I soon realised that not many people live here because the wildlife will soon eat you alive.  The link below shows me pushing the dolly on the beach.
